Well Damn…Teen facing murder charges on the run after escaping from court in leg restraints

A 13-year-old boy is on the run after escaping from a US court where he was facing two murder charges.

The boy, named only as Jericho W, was in the custody of social services before he ran off just after noon on Tuesday, according to Robeson County Sheriff’s Office in North Carolina.

As well as the first-degree murder charges, he was also facing a charge of robbery with a dangerous weapon.

According to NBC News, North Carolina law forbids law enforcement agencies from releasing photographs of children but an image of Jericho was released so that sightings of him could be reported.

Jericho was wearing a white shirt, beige pants and leg restraints but no shoes when he escaped from the court in Lumberton. He was also described as being about 5ft tall.

It’s not clear which case he has been charged in relation to but WRAL, a TV channel based in Raleigh, North Carolina, said it appeared to be the murder of two brothers in their home last month.

A 19-year-old and a 13-year-old were arrested and charged with murder in the case, according to reports.
