The Verzuz battles have been heating up Instagram during these quarantine times. The most recent battle between Ludacris and Nelly gave us all the early 2000s vibes — even Nelly’s internet connection seemed to be from the early aughts (but we digress). The entertaining battles have led to conversation about who should go next — it also led Usher to say this about Nicki Minaj and Lil Kim while chatting with Swizz Beatz…
Instantly, Usher became a trending topic with folks chiming in on his take. Lil Kim fans appreciated Ush for taking time to honor the Queen Bee…
Looks like Kim wasn’t really a fan of all the cameras in her face — but Craig’s is literally THAT SPOT — so we’re not sure why’d she expect any differently. We are glad to see Kim out in these skreets being fancy. She had a number of high profile performances last year so we know the checks are still coming in.
We also have to commend Ms. Kimberly Jones on keeping that bawwwwdy snatched… We’re not going to speculate about any plastic surgery sorcery, but y’all are free to do so. If you think she’s had some adjustments, let us know if you think the work was good or nah? And while we’re talking about Kim keeping her career going — we’re definitely awaiting new music. The Queen Bee’s most recent YouTube activity is her video for “Nasty One.”
Faith Evans and Biggie Smalls’ marriage was filled with good and bad times, including infidelity
Evans and Biggie met at a promotional photoshoot for Bad Bad artists. Biggie didn’t drive so she gave him and his crew a ride back to Brooklyn. She later discovered that Biggie snuck her number from her contact card that was at the shoot.
They married within a month of dating and embarked on a whirlwind relationship. Though they loved one another immensely, Biggie was always involved with other women, including groupies and his rap protégée Lil’ Kim.
The constant infidelity and hurt proved too much to bear and they were on and off for much of their relationship. Evans found it difficult to try and maintain a home while both of their careers rose.
Faith Evans explains how she found out Biggie Smalls was dating Charli Baltimore
Evans and Biggie separated for good when she discovered he was dealing with Kim. She moved out of their Brooklyn home and into her own place and distanced herself from the Bad Boy family to avoid run-ins with her estranged husband. When Biggie went on a promotional tour to promote his new single, he met Charli Baltimore.
Baltimore says she met Biggie when he performed at a concert in her hometown of Philadelphia. After the performance, she asked the rapper for a photo. He asked her if he could take pictures of her and they spent the next hour or so outside of the venue taking photographs of one another. Their romance blossomed from there and she went on the road with him and he eventually helped her with music and helped develop her rap skills.
He had the best sense of humor and best personality so it was a natural progression into a relationship,” Baltimore recalled. “He was definitely different from any dude I’d ever dated up until that point. Maybe about four or five months in, he was saying he loved me.”
Biggie’s business partner, Lance “Un” Rivera, said that Biggie claimed Baltimore from the start and introduced her into the already messy love triangle that involved him, Evans and Kim.
Though Evans was far from the Bad Boy family, that didn’t stop friends reporting Biggie’s relationship with Baltimore back to her.
“I just remember hearing that he would be out and around at places with her,” Evans recalled. “And I’m like wow he’s dating someone like that because he [Biggie] sure wouldn’t be cool if I was doing that, that would not be okay. I was still his wife and I was hurt about it.”
Biggie Smalls confirms his relationship with Charli Baltimore by putting her in a video as a diss to Faith Evans
Despite being separated, Biggie had Rivera call Evans one day and asked her to be his leading lady in a video for his single “Get Money”. Evans declined. As a way of getting revenge, he put Baltimore in the video. The issue was that the concept of the video centered around his issues with Evans. The songs included many subliminal disses towards his wife.
He said I need a look-a-like faith that I can kick out of my house…I want Charli Baltimore in the video,” Rivera recalls. To make matters more complicated, Kim was featured on the song and Rivera knew it was messy to include all of Biggie’s love interests in the same video. He says he warned Biggie that it wasn’t a good idea but he moved forward with the concept anyways.
Baltimore was unaware that she was being used as a pawn at the time. “I had never done a video before so I wasn’t expecting the events that followed with people thought I was impersonating Faith,” she claimed.
The word spread about the video and industry insiders waited in anticipation of the video release. Despite the labels attempt to spin the narrative to the press that the intention wasn’t to mock Evans, everyone knew otherwise.
Both Kim and Evans were hurt by the video. Baltimore was Biggie’s new girlfriend who he was extremely public with, unlike Kim who he’d had a long term relationship with that he never shared with the public. Kim felt she was being replaced and Evans felt disrespected. It was a sign to Evans that Biggie was serious about Baltimore.
Evans and Biggie reconciled briefly and their son, Christopher Wallace Jr., was conceived. Biggie was killed in a drive-by shooting in 1997.
Queen Bee Facing Fresh Round Of Financial Troubles
Lil Kimhas had a successful year settling her finances.
A judge recently approved her planto get out of bankruptcyafter she admitted she owed millions to various creditors. And the deal helped her save her $3 million mansion from foreclosure and a Sheriff’s auction.
However the “All About The Benjamins” rapper – who is now in the midst of a career upswing – isn’t out of the woods yet, at least as far as the IRS is concerned.
That’s because the federal tax entity has just hit the Queen Bee for a tax lien for nearly $60,000, BOSSIP has learned.
The feds say Kim – who was born Kimberly Jones – owes them a total of $58,227.40 for income she made in 2005, according to the lien, which was filed last month and obtained by BOSSIP.
This latest lien isthe fourth in as many years, documents show. In 2015, the IRS alleged she owed $125,805 after she failed to pay taxes from 2010 through 2013. Then in January 2018, the feds accused her of not paying $211,529 on what she made in 2016.
Then just three months later in April 2018, Uncle Sam filed another tax lien against Kim, this time for her income $188,016 for money she brought in in 2006, her liens, which were obtained by BOSSIP, state.
Lil Kim has not yet responded to the latest lien. And it was unclear Wednesday whether she’d paid any of the previous tax debts.
It was all playful, but she wants to collaborate with him in the studio, as well.
Brooklyn emcee Lil Kim has collaborated with her fair share of artists during her long-standing career. The Queen Bee has linked up with fellow artists from various genres to help spin some of our favorite classic jams from “Lady Marmalade” to “Crush on You,” but there are a few artists that Kim still hasn’t been able to work with in the studio.
During a recent chat with Bevy Smith on SiriusXM Radio, Kim was asked if ever in her career there was an artist who rejected her request for a collaboration. After thinking for a few moments,Kim said she couldn’t recall anyone who flat our turned her down.“I don’t think so… I mean, I don’t really ask people,” she said. “A lot of people may do it for me and then whatever. I don’t know if it was a decline. I know there’s times when I wanted to work with people and schedules didn’t permit it, and we’re still trying ’til this day to make it happen.”
When pressed if there is an artist that she’d loved to collaborate with, Kim didn’t hesitate to name a pop star. “I think me and Lady Gaga could do something special,” the rapper said. “AndDrake, maybe. You know I love him. That’s different. We’ll do a lot of other things special, too,” she flirtatiously joked. “He’s just very talented. He’s funny. He’s cool. He’s really, really cute.” Bevy added that Kim is Drake’s type so she may have a chance.
