Oprah Says She Had Nothing To Do With Meghan Markle And Prince Harry’s Decision To Leave Their Royal Duties Despite Rumors She Advised Them To!
Oprah made it very clear that she did not advise Meghan Markle and Prince Harry to leave the royal family and their duties as part of it! This rumor started with an article by Page Six which claimed that the famous TV personality had something to do with the royal couple stepping back from the British monarchy.
But now, in a statement she released via ET, Oprah Winfrey denied her involvement as far as Meghan and Harry’s decision is concerned.
She stressed that ‘Meghan and Harry don’t need my help in figuring out what is best for them. I care about them and I support whatever decisions they make for their family.’
While she may have had nothing to do with it all, it makes sense that there are such rumors floating around since she and the royal couple are pretty close.
As you may know, not only did Oprah attend their wedding back in 2018 but she is also currently working with Prince Harry on a mental health focused series for Apple TV+ that is expected to be dropped sometime this year!
Furthermore, back in April when the couple decided to legally push back against the press that has been harassing and insulting Meghan ever since she joined the royal family, Oprah showed her full support.
During another chat with ET at the time, she told the news outlet that ‘Oh my God! I’m so proud of her decisions. To be able to stand up and say this all is what I really want for my baby and my family and now I am going to do it in a different way when it has been done that way for a thousand years? I am just so proud of her.’
