*Mike Tyson seems to be all about the doom and gloom lately.
A few weeks ago he broke down during an interview while reflecting on his life and career, admitting on his podcast that he’s “scared” of the man he used to be.
Now he claims he is looking forward to death because “life is more complicated.”
“From my experience, from what I believe, the more I know about not existing, the more willing I am to die,” he said in an interview with The Sportsman. “Yeah [I look forward to it], I don’t fear it. Living might be more complicated than dying to me… because living takes a lot of courage,” he added.
Without the courage, you can’t handle living. Living is a journey; living is a struggle. People have everything and they still can’t do it, they struggle.
We take ourselves too seriously; we think we’re somebody. Who the f***, we’re nothing! We come from s***; we think we’re special [but] fame is s***.
You find out you’re not [special]. You’re capable of going to jail, you’re capable of dying, you’re capable of being mistreated.
“I don’t really expect bad things to happen to me, but when they do happen to me, I understand it and I’m able to handle it. I’ve handled bad stuff before, that’s been my life. I don’t trip over bad things, I know s*** happens. When bad things happen, I will be still striving to do something. I won’t be discouraged.”
When Tyson chopped it up with Sugar Ray Leonard recently, he became emotional while reflecting over his life after pro-boxing.
“I know the art of fight, I know the art of war, that’s all I ever studied,” he said at the 14:00 mark of the YouTube clip above. “That’s why they feared me when I was in the ring, I was an annihilator. It’s all I was born for. Now those days are gone it’s empty, I’m nothing. I’m working on the art of humbleness… That’s the reason I’m crying cause I’m not that person no more, and I miss him. Because sometimes I feel like a bitch, because I don’t want that person to come out because if he comes out hell will come with him.”
He went on to say that he “hates” the man he used to be because he’s “scared of him.”
