Kevin Hart Spotted With Jay- Z For First Time Since Near-Fatal Crash
Kevin Hart is slowly but surely returning to the public eye.
While the 40-year-old comedian attempted to conceal his identity, he was spotted out with Jay-Zand a group of friends on Monday evening (October 21), marking his first public appearance since his hospitalization following his near-fatal car accident last month.
In a video, captured by TMZ, Kevin is shown wearing a black hoody while saying goodbye to Irv Gotti and LeBron James‘ business partner, Maverick Carter. The group was spotted at Avra in Beverly Hills where they “played poker, broke bread and exchanged hugs on the way out.” Kevin looked in good spirits, which speaks to his on-going and reported rapid recovery following his scary crash. Last month, Kevin, sustained “major back injuries” after his 1970 Plymouth Barracuda, which was driven by his friend Jared Black, went off the road and rolled down an embankment in Calabasas, California. Two of the three occupants were reportedly trapped in the vehicle, which was completely smashed during the wreck. Miraculously, Kevin was able to walk away from the accident with the help of a bodyguard — he reportedly left the scene to his nearby home — but was later rushed to a hospital to receive medical treatment.
Due to his injuries, Doctors performed back surgeryon Kevin, and he’s since been receiving “intensive outpatient therapy,” TMZ reports. Earlier this month, the outlet revealed that Kevin reported back to work “to promote the upcoming Jumanji sequel in a new marketing campaign” despite not being anywhere near 100 percent recovered yet.
The comedian broke his silence on the car crash, which involved his friends Jared and Rebecca Broxterman, a few weeks ago by releasing a brief statement via his attorney, Andrew Brettler. “I have nothing but love for Jared and wish him and Rebecca a speedy recovery,” Kevin said.
Meanwhile, Andrew also spoke to Entertainment Weekly and announced that his client is taking a work hiatus until early 2020 as he recovers from the accident. “While he’s doing a little work here and there for the film, he doesn’t expect to be fully back to work until the new year,” he added.
