Jada Pinkett Smith Says She Doesn’t Know Husband Will Smith ‘At All’

Jada Pinkett Smith is opening about how the coronavirus pandemic has affected her relationship with husband Will Smith

In a trailer for Wednesday’s (April 29) episode of Red Table Talk, titled “How Your Relationship Can Survive Quarantine,” the 48-year-old talk show host candidly admitted that “one of the things that I realize is that I don’t know Will at all.”

“Let me tell you, that’s been something to be married to somebody 20-some odd years and realize I don’t know you and you don’t know me and also realizing there’s an aspect of yourself you don’t know either,” Jada explained when discussing how she and Will are handling their future as a married couple, per People. “The thing that Will and I are learning to do is be friends… You get into all these ideas of what intimate relationships are supposed to look like, what marriages are supposed to be.”

“Will and I are in the process of him taking the time to learn to love himself, me taking the time to learn to love myself and us building a friendship along the way,” she shared.

Jada said at one point, “It’s challenging. You’re forced to look at things differently,” referring to how quarantining as a couple can affect one’s relationship.

The actress later admitted that sometimes she goes “straight to fight” mode, but with the help of her and Will’s personal relationship counselor Michaela Bohm, who was also on Wednesday’s episode, they’re able to gain insight on healthy relationship tools that all couples can stand to put into practice.
