Irv Gotti Tells Wendy Williams: ‘Ashanti Is Not A Homewrecker’
Irv Gotti insists Ashanti had nothing to do with his divorce.
The Murder Inc. CEO defended Ashanti on Monday’s episode of “The Wendy Williams Show”. The appearance came after Williams and entertainment journalist Devyn Simone accused Gotti and Ashanti of having an affair.
“Let me tell what’s really going on, it’s a lot of misconceptions,” Gotti said. Williams referred to their alleged relationship as an affair and that really irritated Gotti. “Time out! Let me interject,” he snapped.
Can I talk about this, with women, and I’m gonna circle back to you Wendy,” he continued. “Why is it, if a man and a woman is married and they get separated and they’re totally separated … When me and Deb [Lorenzo] separated, she caught me cheating.”
Gotti vehemently defended Ashanti and assured she was not in the picture when his marriage fell apart: “Ashanti is not a homewrecker, guys.”
“Deb caught me when I was directing ‘I Cry’ in Baltimore,” Gotti explained. “Deb, being the vicious person she is, she came down unannounced, ‘I’m Mrs. Lorenzo, give me the room key.’ The door was latched, but she knows I’m in there. That’s what broke me and Deb up.”
Why is it that if a man and woman get married, if they are separated, they’re not going to be together, I can’t go mess with other girls until I sign the divorce papers?” he asked Williams.
Gotti then took a shot at Williams’ separation from Kevin Hunter.
“You ain’t get a divorce yet and I see you swerving,” he told Williams. “Is those divorce papers signed yet? Good for Wendy, do you, it’s over!”
