Kanye West Does ‘Carpool Karaoke’ On A Plane — Talks $65 Million Tax Return

Kanye West has taken “Carpool Karaoke” to new heights!

For the latest episode of James Corden‘s famous Late Late Show segment, the late-night talk show host joined Mr. West and his huge Sunday Service band and choir for a day in the sky, an Airpool Karaoke of sorts, as the two took on a number of reworked Kanye classics, gospel hits, and even some tracks off Ye’s latest album, Jesus Is King, all while flying in an actual airplane.

While surrounded by members of Mr. West’s Sunday Service group, James and born-again Ye additionally chatted about everything from Kanye’s taxes to his love of God to his five-year marriage to Kim Kardashian.

“[Before I got married], people thought it would be uncool to be married, but then I got married and people were like, “Aw that looks cool,” Ye said.

However, James had to disagree, saying, “No one ever thought it would uncool to marry Kim Kardashian… everybody thought it would be cool to marry Kim Kardashian.”

“Well, not Kris Humphries,” Ye joked, referencing Kim’s ex-husband. The conversation then turned serious, with Kanye adding, “[Marriage is] more than cool. It’s more than cool as hell. It’s heavenly, it’s great, it’s magnificent. And God is using me as a human being, as humbly as I can put it, he’s using me to show off.”

Ye then used his improved finances as an example of God using him to “show off.”

“Last year I made $115 million and still ended up $35 million in debt. This year I looked up and I just got $68 million returned to me on my tax returns,” Kanye revealed. “And people say, ‘Oh, don’t talk about these numbers.’ No, people need to hear someone that has been put into debt by the system talk about these kind of numbers now that they’re in service to Christ.”

The Yeezy creator added that he credited all of his success to his “spiritual awakening.”

And when James and Kanye weren’t discussing Kanye’s being re-birth, Ye and his Sunday Service band were performing reworked versions of Ginuwine‘s “Anxious,” Nelly Furtado‘s “I’m Like a Bird,” and, of course, a few modified Kanye hits like “Jesus Walks” and “Through the Wire.”
