Drake, Lil Wayne And Nicki Minaj Now Hold The Crown For This Billboard Hot 100 Record

It’d be remiss to argue that any other label had as big of an impact on music this past decade as Lil Wayne’s Young Money Entertainment. Weezy introduced Drake and Nicki Minaj to the rest of the world, two artists who would go on to dominate the music industry, breaking countless records in the process. Long upheld as one of rap’s penultimate trifecta’s, few have come close to the might of Weezy, Nicki and Drake at the top of their A-game, both independently and collaboratively.

Undoubtedly, each of them cemented themselves amongst the greatest to ever do it in music, although their familial dynamic today is much different than it was in the past. Drake has since left the Young Money family, confirming in his Rap Radar interview that he is signed directly to Universal.

Following in the wake of Lil Wayne’s latest studio offering, Funeral (which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart), Nicki also recently added another accolade to her bevy of achievements with her newest single, “Yikes.” The track entered the Billboard Hot 100 chart at No. 23, according to Billboard, boosting her total career entries to 108. To put that into perspective, Nicki dropped “Yikes” without a feature and zero promotion, a fact she noted on her official Instagram page as well.

With this accolade, Drake, Wayne and Nicki now hold the crown as the rappers with the most charting singles in Hot 100 history, according to music industry analytics system Chart Data. Chart Data first reported the news via Twitter on  Monday (Feb. 18). Drake has yet to put out a proper solo in 2020, although he’s made it well-known that he’s been in the studio cooking up his highly-anticipated follow-up to 2018’s Scorpion
