Aaron “Bat” Young, a defendant in the Tekashi 6ix9ine trial who pleaded guilty back in April to being part of a racketeering conspiracy, is requesting less time n prison due to his low IQ and the abuse he suffered as a child.

According to Complex, Young’s lawyer submitted a letter to the judge pleading his case:

Attorney Aaron Mysliwiec wrote that Young deserves leniency because he “was born severely premature and addicted to crack cocaine” and was “subjected to extreme physical abuse by his mother” as a child.

He also writes that Young is a survivor of sexual abuse after moving to the house of a relative. According to Mysliwiec, Young had an IQ of only 63 in fifth grade. He was subsequently diagnosed with “Mild Mental Retardation of Intellectual Functioning.”

Young is facing up to 240 months in prison while Jamel “Mel Murda” Jones, called The Godfather of the NineTrye Gangsta Bloods, only received 135 months.
