Judge Sides With Megan Thee Stallion AGAIN In Legal Battle With Record Label

Megan Thee Stallion has secured another win in her legal battle with current label, 1501 Certified Entertainment.

According to Billboard, a judge denied a request by 1501 Entertainment and its CEO Carl Crawford to compel the “Savage” rapper’s case to arbitration. The judge also reportedly denied 1501 Ent. CEO Carl Crawford’s request to stay the case.

Meg’s lawyer spoke to the publication, saying “We are obviously very happy with the court’s decision and look forward to litigating this case.”

Meg is trying to free herself from the label after she tried to renegotiate her contract and that they tried to prevent her from releasing new music.

“So when I got with Roc Nation, I got management — real management — and real lawyers. They were like, ‘Do you know that this is in your contract?’ And I was like, ‘Oh, damn, that’s crazy — no, I didn’t know,'” she said. “… Soon as I said, ‘I want to renegotiate my contract,’ everything went left. It all went bad. It all went left. So now [1501] tellin’ a b*tch she can’t drop no music. It’s really just, like, a greedy game,” she said last month.

Oprah Winfrey Praises New Song From Drake ‘Oprah’s Bank Account’

Drake, Lil’ Yachty, and DaBaby, recently dropped a brand new rap song called “Oprah’s’ Bank Account,” and the media mogul couldn’t be happier about it. Oprah, speaking with The Associated Press this week, exclaimed, “I love it. I love it. I love it!”

Reportedly, Drake and the aforementioned artists just dropped the new single and it’s currently number 23 on the Billboard rap songs chart. The track comes out on Lil’ Yachty’s new record, Lil Boat 3. The nine-minute music video features the rapper dressed up as Oprah, except with the name, Boprah.

Lil Yachty, as the mock-Oprah, interviews Drake and DaBaby in the clip. Winfrey said to the outlet that she hasn’t actually seen the music video for it yet, but it’s nice to be included in a Drake song “no matter what.” She added, “especially for your bank account, ok!”

Fans of the Toronto native know that the new track with him marks his 208th song on the all-genre chart. It landed on the Billboard Hot 100 chart last month. According to Billboard, the song pushed Drake past the Glee cast, who previously set the record with 207 songs.

In other words, Drake appears to be on top of his game right now more than ever. It looks like the rapper is also doing well in his personal life as well. On the 20th of March, Nick Markus reported on a post from the mother of Drake’s child, Sophie Brussaux, in which she shared pictures of their son together.

As most know, Drake shares a 2-year-old son with Adonis, who is 2-years-old. Fans of the “Hotline Bling” artist will remember a post from himself not long ago when he finally introduced the child to the world.

Oprah Winfrey, on the other hand, recently launched her own series on Apple TV+ in which she discusses the coronavirus that has taken ahold of the world, including the United States.

The news came not long after it was revealed Oprah was backing out of her executive producer position on a documentary revolving around the sexual assault allegations against Russell Simmons, the Def Jam Recordings co-founder.

Believe It: Rihanna Drops New Single And Barely Sings

Was this the Rihanna song ya’ll was waiting for?

It’s been four years since the pop star has dropped new music and when she finally does it’s only background vocals. No seriously. ICYMI, the Barbadian singer released the new song “Believe It,” with PARTYNEXTDOOR but she only sings the track’s five-word chorus and backup.

Needless to say her navy of devoted followers were disappointed.

“Rihanna really made me wait three years for the background vocals?!” tweets one upset fan, to the tune of 6,500 likes.

“ ’Best make me believe it,’ echoing in my head for the next three years until rihanna gives us another lil feature,” writes another in a tweet that has racked up over 2,200 likes.

That hasn’t stopped them from listening though: The lyric video has some 200K views.

Rihanna’s last album was “Anti,” released in 2016, which included the single “Work.”

But while she hasn’t been making music she has been doing her part to help combat the spread of the coronavirus. Earlier this month her Clara Lionel Foundation donated $5 million to organizations and governments fighting the COVID-19 pandemic. The money will help fund food banks serving at-risk communities, distribution of respiratory supplies and protective gear, testing resources in underprivileged countries and training for health workers, the charity said last week.

“I want to thank @rihanna and the Rihanna Foundation for donating Personal Protective Equipment to New York State,” Gov. Andrew Cuomo tweeted on Thursday. “We’re so appreciative of your help and that of so many others who have stepped up.”

RiRi’s featured on his new single, “Believe It,” which appears on the Canadian R&B singer’s new album, “Partymobile.” It dropped at midnight via Drake’s label, OVO Sound … and has everyone wondering when Rihanna’s own record will be released.

For now, we got ‘Believe’ … a groovy slow jam, highlighting Rihanna and PND’s smooth vocals paired to create a nice hook.

The duo had previously linked up on her single, “Work ft. Drake” … PND was one of the co-writers.

Rihanna hasn’t put out an album since she released “Anti” in 2016 — but last month she revealed was back in the studio working with The Neptunes — Pharrell Williams and Chad Hugo.

Patience. For now, fans can believe she’s still got it.

Usher Finally Drops ‘Don’t Waste My Time’ Music Video – HipHollywood

Y’all know what this is. Usher finally dropped the visuals for his feel-good track ‘Don’t Waste My Time” featuring Ella Mai and it’s everything we’d hoped it would be.

The R&B star has been teasing fans with clips for days so we new it was going to be a vibe … a house party vibe to be exact. In the directed by LeSean Harris directed video Usher throws the ultimate house party at his Moroccan estate.

Clad in silky pajamas Usher saunters around his fly pad checking his drip and making sure everything is just right including the food cooked up by none other than Snoop Dogg, who gets his Salt Bae on.

The guests start arriving including Ella Mai, Christian and Justin Combs, Evan Ross, and Eric Bellinger, while Jermaine Dupri mans the turntables. With his friends chilling poolside, Usher goes live on Instagram as synchronized swimmers show off their moves.

Clearly Usher knows how to throw an epic pool party. Folks on Twitter seemed also seemed to think so.

Usher debuted the J.D.-produced track back in December. He has been in the studio working on a new album, his first since 2016’s Hard II Love, which will reportedly feature his “Yeah!” collaborators Lil Jon and Ludacris. Last month, he teased “Confessions Part III,” the third installment in his “Confessions” series.

This marks the latest recent moment of fans being sent into a frenzy over the “Unbreak My Heart” crooner. “Happy birthday B.I.L.” sister Trina Braxton wrote on Instagram.

This set the internet abuzz, with many speculating that Toni and the “Stuntin’ Like my Daddy” rapper had secretly tied the knot. The couple got engaged in February 2018

Longstanding New Orleans bounce DJ and radio personality Black N Mild has died after testing positive for coronavirus. The Orleans Parish coroner’s office confirmed Friday (March 20) that the DJ, born Oliver Stokes Jr., died Thursday after contracting the virus. He was 44.

Stokes is known for bringing New Orleans bounce music to the radio. “I was the first DJ in Nola history to have a radio mix show dedicated to Nola Bounce from 03-05 (up to Katrina),” he wrote in a Feb. 3 Facebook post. After Hurricane Katrina, Stokes relocated to Houston, where he hosted a mix show on local radio. His Rhythm and Bounce show was featured on Saturday nights on New Orleans AM station WBOK from 2013 to 2017, an era Stokes also spent DJing at clubs, bars and parties throughout the region.

“One of the biggest and best compliments I ever got from somebody in the industry,” Stokes said in a 2012 interview with Tulane University, “is when I was playing an industry event I was doing in ’04. … I was DJing the event and there were a lot of industry people there and Doug E. Fresh was hosting. … Doug E. Fresh pulled me to the side and was like, ‘Man, I’ve heard a lot of DJs in my time; you were one of the smoothest DJs I’ve ever heard.’”

The father of four also worked at the Arthur Ashe Charter School in New Orleans’ Gentilly neighborhood. According to The Times-Picayune, Stokes Jr. left the school with a fever on March 9 and documented the early stages of his sickness on social media, writing his last post — “pneumonia not the flu” — on March 11.

The late DJ is not to be confused with New Orleans producer Adam “BlaqNmilD” Pigott, who has worked with artists including Drake and Lil Wayne.
