Aretha Franklin’s former home is for sale — and you can it buy for under $1 million

Aretha Franklin’s Detroit home is on the market, again.

The Queen of Soul’s ‘Rose Estate’ is a 5,623-square-foot mansion that was built in the 1920s. Its nickname is directly related to the rose imagery throughout the estate and because Franklin recorded her album A Rose Is Still a Rose while she lived there.

According to the listing on Zillow, the home requires major renovations. It also states, however, the bare bones have ‘great potential.’ The six-bedroom, five-bathroom mansion sits between Palmer Park and the Detroit Golf Club.

The realty company is asking for $600,000 for the home. Proof of funds is required for all showings.
